The beach — a go-to place to relax, to unwind or ro just break free from life’s hohum. It is a place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. And the Philippines, being an archipelago of over 7000 islands, is dotted with numerous beaches of different kinds.

The island province of Cebu alone is surrounded by beautiful beaches here and there. These beaches are visually alluring because of their warm, relaxing color scheme. They have rich, comforting palettes, such as a soft yellow mixed with shades of beige and orange because of the sun and sand. Much like the over-all vibe and aesthetics of Sugar Beach in Bantayan Island, Northern Cebu.

True to its name, the sand at Sugar Beach resembles the finest refined sugar. Sugar Beach is the widest white sand beach with the an extremely beautiful and pristine waters in the coasts of Sta Fe, Bantayan Island.

Sugar Beach is an expansive beachfront with a good number of resorts and beach side restaurants, making it a perfect nature spot for scenic strolls and water sports.

I could vividly remember my sweet escape to Sugar Beach years back. Such memory remind me of the importance of taking a break like going to the beach. I’ve read an article that says salty ocean breeze can boost one’s serotonin levels, making us happier. Therefore, the benefits of going to the beach not only affect iur physical, but also our mental health.

Being surrounded by seawater helps release stress, relax our muscles, promote deep sleep and spiritually cleanse ones aura. Swimming in the sea has also been linked to stimulating rest and repair of the body.

Lastly, the sunlight soaking into our skin as we bask under the sun, spikes our bodies’ production of Vitamin D and serotonin, releasing all kinds of feel-good chemicals in our brains. These are more than enough reasons to go on a beach escapade!
UPDATE:
The island of Bantayan is now more accessible with the newly launched Cebu – Bantayan flight (an absolute travel game changer). With this news, both local and foreign travellers who wish to see Northern Cebu’s magical island/s have a gadget option and can now forego if the long, butt-numbing bus and fetry rides (which usually take about 5 to 6 hours). Wjth this new development, one xan fly to Bantayan by plane for approximately ~30 mins.

I’d love to make my way to the Philippines. It sounds like I’d need at least a month there, if not longer. Someday.
