The Philippines is known to be made up of 7,107 islands. Twenty five (25%) percent of these islands and islets are in the island province of Palawan. 45 islands and islets alone are in the paradisiacal town of El Nido. One of which is Tapiutan Island.

Tapiutan Island is an island further out of the Bacuit Bay and is the most remote El Nido island that is facing the West Philippine Sea. The island is considered to be one of the most striking islands in El Nido because of its contour and vertical limestone walls. The island’s rich marine life is one reason why it lures a multitude of scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Tapiutan Island is the parallel with another frequented island in El Nido, Matinloc Island. The pass between the two islands (Tapiutan Strait) is slim and impressed with soaring cliffs giving any visitor passing through it a distinctive and enigmatic vibe. This is usually part of Tour C El Nido island hopping tour wherein the island serves as a stop-over during lunch time.

There are also several beaches on the western side of the island that faces the open sea like Star Beach and Talisay Beach. These beaches have unspoiled white sand and its waters rich in colorful corals and diverse marine creatures.

How to get there:

From Manila, the fastest way is to ride a plane to El Nido Airport. From El Nido Airport, you can rent a van or a tricycle to El Nido town proper and then from there you’ll need to rent a boat to reach Tapiutan Island. You can also rent a boat from El Nido Airport to Tapiutan Island.

From Manila, alternatively (and most commonly) you can ride a plane bound for Puerto Prinsesa City. From Puerto Prinsesa Airport, ride a tricycle to San Jose Terminal. From San Jose Terminal, you can ride a van, a mini bus or an air-conditioned bus bound for El Nido town proper. From the town proper, rent a boat to Tapiutan Island.
