A Taste of Posh Elegance: Dining at Baguio’s New Strawberry Bistro

Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines, has just welcomed a delightful new dining spot that’s already turning heads: Strawberry Bistro. Located within the stately Wright Park Hotel, this in-house restaurant promises a chic and satisfying culinary escape, combining beautiful ambiance with truly innovative dishes.

Pizza x Salad

An Ambiance to Savor
From the moment you step into Strawberry Bistro, you’ll be charmed by the refined atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a beautiful indoor dining area that feels both elegant and cozy, perfect for a special meal. For those who prefer the crisp Baguio air, the alfresco dining area offers a refreshing setting to enjoy your meal. While waiting for your order, you’ll be treated to complimentary focaccia bread, a simple yet thoughtful touch that hints at the quality to come.

Strawberry Iced Tea, Focaccia bread, and more during the resto’s grand opening

First Impressions: A Grand Opening Delight
I was fortunate enough to experience their grand opening, and from among the food served during that time, one dish immediately stood out: the Pot Roast Beef. It was, without exaggeration, super soft and absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, flavorful, and a perfect example of comfort food elevated. The food was paired with their Strawberry Iced Tea, which, admittedly, was just okay—not a showstopper, but a decent accompaniment nonetheless.

The Ultimate Culinary Adventure: Ube Pizza
My second dining experience was driven by sheer curiosity, and it resulted in a delightful surprise! I had to try the Ultimate Ube Pizza. Ube, a beloved Filipino purple yam often reserved for desserts, seemed an odd choice for pizza, but the combination was magnificent. The creamy ube base, coupled with cheddar and mozzarella, was perfectly complemented by the savory toppings: salted egg and crushed dried fish (which I suspect were anchovies). The salty, umami notes from the fish and salted egg balanced the sweet ube, creating a symphony of flavors. It comes with a separate honey drizzle, but honestly, it wasn’t necessary. The star of the show was definitely the crushed dried fish—a little more of that would elevate this pizza to legendary status!

Strawberry Pasta Chicken Salad – the fern in it is such a
refreshing take.

A Salad that Satisfies: The Strawberry Chicken Pasta Salad
As a dedicated salad lover, I was thoroughly impressed with the Strawberry Chicken Pasta Salad. This was no ordinary greens-and-dressing dish. It featured tender fusili pasta, juicy grilled chicken, and a sweet aioli dressing that tied everything together. The slices of fresh strawberries added a burst of tart sweetness. The real surprise, however, was the inclusion of “pako” or fern leaves, a local green that added a unique texture and flavor. While my order didn’t seem to include the listed bacon bits, pineapple, or boiled egg, it did have fresh apple slices and cucumber. Nonetheless, it was a truly palate-satisfying salad for a dedicated green-eater.

As a fish lover, this salmon aburi is such a palatine delight.

Delightful Salmon Aburi! 🥦
This salmon aburi is a must-try! The flame-seared salmon, crowned with a layer of perfectly melted cheese, creates a rich, smoky flavor. It rests beautifully alongside a vibrant mix of French beans, cauliflower, and tender broccoli. The combination of savory fish, creamy cheese, and fresh, crisp veggies is absolutely delicious and satisfying. Highly recommended!

Ugh, this bibingka is the perfect pair to your coffee or tea.

Bibingka Logs – a beautiful surprise! Strawberry Bistro’s version of a well loved glutinous rice, bibingka, is such a delightful surprise! It’s like a local souffle, topped with toasted coconut, salty cheddar cheese, and sweet honey, is already fantastic. But the accompanying dip is the game-changer: a smooth mix of salted eggs and whipped cream. It sounds unusual, but the salty-sweet combination cuts through the richness beautifully, making every bite surprisingly good and addictive. A must-try Filipino dessert experience.

Someone’s delighted with his pizza and salad!

The Verdict: Quality and Value
Looking at the menu, the prices might seem a tad posh, but let me assure you: the servings are generous and the food is genuinely delicious. In a city where some restaurants overprice their mediocre offerings, Strawberry Bistro’s price point is reasonable and justified by the high-quality ingredients and exceptional flavors.

I have many more interesting dishes I’m eager to try, which means I am definitely coming back for another visit. If you’re looking for a top-tier dining experience that blends local flavor with upscale presentation in Baguio, Strawberry Bistro at the Wright Park Hotel should be at the very top of your list!
