For the Love of Food and ‘Foodtography’

What foods would you like to make?

Oooh A LOT! Because I love food
Who loves salmon? I do! Here is my air-fried Rosemary – Lemon Salmon on Aligue Fried Rice

Not so many people know that most of the food photographs I post in my Instagram are my own recipes, and are my own cooking. Hohoho. I may not be a professional in cooking and food photography BUT I love food. I love everything about food. I love making one. I love eating (though my lanky frame may not show). And I loooove styling and photographing food. Just because food is a lovely subject, because food is happiness.

Here are some food I have prepared, made, stylized and photographed.

I love making pancakes! This is my hole wheat pancake with mashed bananas and yogurt.

I topped it off with some ripe mangoes, caramel sauce and cacao nibs. This is my first attempt at creating a mango rose as toppings. I had to watch a few vids on Youtube for this hahaha. Not totally good looking but I think it isn’t a failure either.
I love cooking pasta! Especially seafood pasta. Here are my shrimp pesto, rainbow aligue pasta, and shrimp salted egg pasta.
This my pancit topped with my patis fried chicken! Not bragging but my patis fried chicken is to die for. Even my brother who is the chef in the family loves it!
(Left) One local dish I’ve learned from my pops is the Ilocos noodle dish called “miki”. I’m glad I’ve learned to cook this dish from him. (Right) My sister and I make the most delicious molo soup you’ll end up wanting another bowl.
I uber enjoy making breakfast. Here’s my wurstel eggs and herbed potatoes; and fried plantain and sunnyside eggs!
More breakfast creations — my “hotoastlog” – hotdogs, toast and itlog (egg) + my version of pesto eggs.
I fell in love with laksa during my travels so I attempted to make one sometime ago. This is my seafood laksa sans the cilantro and bean sprouts. Still good though methinks.
I can make some really fancy breakfast meals too. I enjoy waking up early to prepare a meal made of waffles, cacao drink and fresh fruits; or you’ll be delighted how I’d painstakingly prepare my rainbow pancakes!
An all-time favorite that I always make with gusto and happiness – avocado toast!
Lastly, I love making desserts. The sweet tooth in me is the driving force why I enjoy making various saccharine goodies like my mango sticky rice and Milo – coffee jelly!

The ability to be creative, and the sense of satisfaction knowing we can provide for ourself and that immense joy when your family, friends, and even strangers try a new dish you cook and they enjoy it — that’s happiness.

Bon appetit from your happy foodie.

Take eat easy.
