Ilocos Norte, Philippines — Pagudpud is the northernost coastal town of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. It’s one of the must-visit destination in Northern Luzon for its various natural wonders.
Here is a quick rundown of 5 noteworthy sites one should pay a visit when in Pagudpud.
1. Bantay Abot and Timmantang Rock: These are unique natural rock formations made even more beautiful by the pounding of eaves at this side of the Ilocos region.

Timmangtang Rock is a distinct large rock formation located along the shores of Pagudpud. This verdant, bell-like rock formation overlooks the sea. Locals, at times, regard Timmangtang Rock as the male half of what they call βLovers Rocksβ. The female half being the nearby Bantay Abot Cave.

Bantay Abot, which mean “mountain with a hole” is actually a picturesque arched rock formation facing the rough waters of the West Philippine Sea. The unusual shape makes Bantay Abot a popular stop for many visitors going to Maira-ira Cove.

2. Maira-ira Cove and Isla Dos Hermanos.
From the months of July to September, Pagudpud becomes a hotspot for surfing enthusiasts. The waves at Maira-ira Cove has slowly attracted the attention of surfers in the country. With its secluded but picturesque location, Maira-ira Cove, which is sometimes called the Blue Lagoon, has become a favorite in Pagudpud.

Isla Dos Hermanos. Most of the time, this two small islands are neglected by visitors who would rather stay and play at Maira-ira Cove’s (Blue lagoon) white fine sand beach. Most would be just satisfied marveling at them from afar. But I highly suggest that the next time you’re in Pagudpud, why don’t you go the extra mile and climb your way atop and marvel at the West Philippine Sea’s scenic view. One of the islands can be reached by walking thru the water when its low tide.

3. Saud Beach. Perhaps the most popular tourist spot in Pagudpud, Saud Beach is where the party is. It’s where most beach goers stay. Aside from bumming around its pristine shores, Saud Beach can be a spectacle during sundown too.

4. Kabigan Falls. If you want to go on a short trek at the forest side of Pagudpud, commune with nature and chase some waterfalls and then cool off into the falls’ icy wΓ ter, then go check out the 87-feet tall Kabigan Falls.

5. Patapat Viaduct. This 1.3-kilometer concrete bridge classified as a viaduct with an elevation of more than 30 meters above sea level, is the fourth-longest bridge in the Philippines. The viaduct is constructed at the foot of the North Cordillera mountain range and it stretches along the very scenic coast of Pagudpud. It is a major structure that links the rest of the Ilocos Region to the Cagayan Valley.

Pagudpud is also near other equally stunning Ilocos Norte sights like the Bangui Windmills, the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation and Cape Bojeador (a watchtower) both found in the nearby town lf Burgos.
Take it easy.
The scenery in Pagudpud looks stunning. Looks like a great spot to spend time outdoors and enjoy nature.
