My Knack for Adventure

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

The adventure junkie in me.

It is believed that no two people are similar. We all have our own traits and personality that make us different, unique… And then there is that one (or maybe two) things we like most about ourselves. Mine is my knack for adventure. I want to think that I have this indomitable spirit for bold escapades.

Adventure is my morphine.
So much of WHO we are is WHERE we have been.
Cheers to more adventures!
Allowing yourself to get lost in a foreign city is an adventure itself, right? – Stockholm, Sweden 2017

So what’s being adventurous? To me it is a lifestyle — someone who seeks happiness and thrill through new experiences… one who lives everything in the first person and doesn’t wait to be told about it.

Volcano trekking in Auckland, New Zealand and mountain climbing in Reykjavik, Iceland
Open water Kayaking in Masbate and Stand-up paddle boarding in Panglao, Bohol 🇵🇭
White water rafting at the Cagayan de Oro River and the Mighty Davao River. Mindanao 🇵🇭

As one quote says, “There are no dreams, only realities”. As an adventurous soul, I believe that there is no force in the world that can stop my fearless spirit. There is no dream adventure that does not come true. As such, I would tend to use any excuse to go out, explore, and see with my very eyes what I have imagined.

Scaling and being on top of the Philippines’highest mountain is an adventure of a lifetime. – Mount Apo, Davao 2009.
Swimming with whale sharks – Oslob, Cebu 🇵🇭

Going on an adventure of any sort has a way of turning things around. From experience, adventures fill us up with so much life. It always has a way of making me feel happy and inspired.. From my numerous solo backpacking across the 76 (of 82) provinces in the Philippines to that ultimate months of travelling across Europe and Middle East, North Africa (MENA), life is indeed a great adventure mSo here are some of the most memorable activities I have done as an adventure junkie!

Skim boarding for the 1st time. Twas damn challenging but rewarding! – Mati, Davao Oriental 🇵🇭 2010
Abseiling (aka rappelling) x Rock Climbing 🇵🇭
SCUBA Diving (Batangas) and Helmet Diving (Aklan) 🇵🇭
Jobs fill your pockets, but adventures fill your soul. ATV ride in Carmen, Bohol.
With my friend Rhei, we had to try Bangladesh’s rickshaw – riding one along rhe busy and chaotic streets of Dhaka is in itself an adventure.
Oh my love for surfing! Was able to surf the waves of Siargao, Baler to Catanduanes to Samar to Elyu to Bali, Indonesia!
Dhow cruise adventure and banana boat ride in Musandam, Oman 🇴🇲

Life is a fatal adventure. It can only have one end. So why not make it as far-ranging and free as possible.

Did a few half-marathon in Baguio City and a lot of short-distance trail running 🇵🇭
A favorite weekend past time – wall climbing
ATV ride at the White Dunes and sand sledding at the Red Dunes in Mui Ne, VietNam

Nudism/naturalism is something I have always wanted to try so when I had a chance to do it in a lake in Berlin, Germany – I immediately took the chance 🇩🇪
Moooore adventures: zipline in South Cotabato, kawa bath experience in Antique, swimming with turtles un Apo Reef, Mindoro and biking in Mountain Province 🇵🇭
And if one day I’ll be gone, remember me through my smile and my love for adventure.

Cheers to more adventures despite life’s many adversities. Take it easy.
