Kathmandu: Some Place Spellbinding πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅

Kathmandu, Nepal — While it is true that the immediate thought that comes to mind when one says, Nepal, is Himalayas and Mount Everest, there is definitely more to this country than that ultimate dream of climbing the world’s highest peak.

And one of those beautiful reasons why there is kore to Nepal id it’s capital city, Kathmandu.

There are places I have been to where I personally categorize them as places where I felt it was “love at first sight”. And then there are those places that “moves me in mysterious ways” just because I can’t exactly pinpoint as to why I love them or or I am just lost for words as. To how to properly describe them. And that’s how O felt during my trip to Kathmandu then.

There’s something about Kathmandu that evokes an air of magical, homey vibe. As I have said, I am not quite sure of the exact reasons why I find Kathmandu captivating to my heart.

Let me try to explain though. Maybe its that comforting, relaxing climate similar (even way colder) to my home city, Baguio. Or maybe that secure feeling while walking the narrow streets with scents not really familiar to me but are nonetheless so relaxing and spellbinding.

Or maybe it’s those earth-toned structures that abound the city whether these are medieval temples and shrines, ir regular establishments that looks so easy on the eyes. Could be those times I would hop on a simple cafe and have some Nepali yogurt, pancakes and tea that made my experience happy…. or that one time I had an encounter with a monk who prayed for me and gave me a bracelet… that one was surreal and magical and ugh, a once in a lifetime experience.

But then again it could also be the beautiful people I have met, both local and foreign. The Nepalese culture enamored my spirit, reminding me of the mantra on being kind to everyone.

And lastly, zi attribute this homey feeling to Kathmandu’s timeless charm that felt mysterious and magical. Oh I already said that. But you get it right? If tou don’t, then maybe this is the time you include Kathmandu in your travel bucket list.
