Let’s Eat: Casa Napoli (Basco, Batanes, PH)

My love is pizza shaped. Won’t you have a slice? It’s circular, so there’s enough to go around.

At this point, it is no longer a hush-hush that Batanes, the Philippines’s smallest and northernmost province, is in every angle picture-perfect making it a top-notch destination. But wait, there is more! Besides the ooooh so amazing sights, it I also home to some of the most heavenly pizza in our country.

Casa Napoli, a home-grown restaurant that offers palatine-satiating pizza with crispy crusts (something I personally like with my pizza – thin!) Baked on a pizza stone, the resto’s homemade dough, fresh toppings and mushy mozzarella make Casa Napoli pizza mouth-watering.

Their menu is composed of household flavours such as Garlic & Cheese , Ham & Cheese, Hawaiian , Pepperoni, and some special flavours like Romana among many others. Costs around ₱225 to ₱350 for a large serving. The flavours don’t look mostly stimulating on its menu, but when you get to smell and taste the pizza, even the Garlic and Cheese is blissful to the taste buds and the soul.

Casa Napoli has this nonchalant appeal that is more than enough for the basic dining when eating pizza. The interior’s decor is simple and evokes a homey feel. That’s pretty good because one wouldn’t be anxious to be too formal. Haha J

It really is the dough, a recipe Mirabueno learned from an Italian he met on a ship, but he refuses to tell us the secret ingredient. Instead, the cheerful chef humors us by posing for a picture.

Casa Napoli is run by Xavier Mirabueno . They are open every day (except Saturday) from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. For reservations, you may call +63 918 964 2567.

And so, if you are planning to go to Batanes, do not miss this pizza house. A visit would not only leave your sense of sight full, but your sense of taste as well!
